It could have been a scene of death and destruction, a national tragedy, only there were no children at the preschool in Sderot when the Kassam blasted into the play ground of an unprotected (not Kassam proofed) preschool in Sderot.
At around 5:00pm today the "Color Red" siren was sounded and a Kassam rocket fired from the Gaza strip slammed into the grassy aria of the playground of one of Sderot`s preschools. Thank G-d for the miracles he does in Sderot, the children were out on summer vacation. In addition to the damage it caused to the preschool, it caused thousands of dollars in damage to adjacent buildings. Shrapnel was found hundreds of feet away. In addition to the damage three of the adjacent building`s residents went into shock (suffered a nervous breakdown).
During the aftermath of the explosion after police and emergency workers had arrived on scene, an elderly Sderot woman who lives next to the preschool arrived with herb branches to the spot where the Kassam had embedded itself in the ground apparently trying to scare away the evil eye. This is just one more example of the enduring spirit of the people of Sderot.
