On Monday afternoon 54 year old Adela Friedman and her daughter Shirel age 32, were sitting on a bench in Sderot, Adela felt cold so Shirel offered to bring her sweater from home (a five minute walk from where they were). She was walking between Meshi`s Bakery and a clothing store, and then when she was 2 minutes away from home, A Kassam rocket slammed into a parked car next to where she was walking. The "Red Alert" alarm system failed to go off thus there was no warning. She was hit by shrapnel in the neck and lower body. The Israel Red Star of David paramedic told us that he arrived she was unconscious all attempts to revive her in the ambulance failed and doctors confirmed her death on arrival at the Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon.
